MIDLAND ENGINE'S HISTORY
Midland Engine, Inc. was established in 1984 with the purchase of a small automotive machine shop, located in the back of an auto parts store in Midland, MI. The existing shop had previously focused on the automotive engine market, but the intent of Midland Engine was to serve the construction and industrial markets, with component machining and engine rebuilding services. To do this, additional equipment and experienced personnel were added to expand the capacity and scope of the existing facility.
In 1986, Midland Engine was awarded the Ingersoll-Rand Construction Equipment Distributorship, and became an authorized dealer for Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and Deutz Diesel engines. A field service truck was also added to increase service capacities, and additional building space was acquired to accommodate Midland Engine’s growth.
Today, the Midland Engine, Inc. facilities encompass over 20,000 square feet of floor space to facilitate all aspects of equipment and engine repairs and maintenance. Our staff includes ASE Certified Technicians and Machinists, and our dedicated Parts Department is supported with an extensive in-house inventory.
